Farzin received his MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sussex University in the UK in 2004, and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (CANDU reactor simulation) from Ryerson University in Canada in 2009. He has 10 years of extensive experience in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). His responsibilities in Stern Labs include performing computer simulations for the nuclear reactors such as CANDU and non-Canadian reactors (BWR, PWR etc.). He also participates in the experimental procedures.

Brendan has been a project and design engineer for Stern Laboratories since 2002, first as a summer student, and later as a full time project engineer. Brendan's current responsibilities incude new order scoping and budgeting, customer liaison, project management, mechanical and electrical design and drafting, test analysis and reporting. Although he has worked in many of Stern Labs' areas of service, Brendan's recent focus has been in the design and supply of custom reactor maintenance and inspection tooling.

Responsibilities include: engineering, design and supervision for construction of test facilities including equipment and piping in accordance with ASME Pressure Vessel and Power Piping Codes; preparation of test programs including instrumentation and performing experiments as test engineer; design and fabrication of fuel simulators; mechanical integrity experiments on CANDU fuel; performing single phase pressure drop experiments; analyzing test data and preparation of test reports; preparation of contract proposals and management of customer contracts.

Richard graduated from McMaster University in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Main responsibilities include the project management, design supervision and fabrication of various types of fuel simulators, design and layout of piping and test facilities, and assisting in test programs.

Project supervision from design to final report including technical writing, drawings, testing and analysis. Design of acquisition and instrumentation systems for monitoring and recording of experimental data. Experience with transducer selection, cabling, signal conditioning and calibration of equipment for temperature, pressure, force, strain, crack propagation, acceleration, velocity and displacement measurements. Design of custom instrumentation including fiber optic probes. Design, installation, metering, retrofit and maintenance of high current AC and DC power systems.
